We’ve a short and sweet update for you this month. We’re loving life with our newborn baby, Faith Katherine, who is five weeks old. While we discover what our new ‘normal’ looks like, Fiona is on maternity leave and David has returned to his role at our international headquarters after having a couple of weeks at home when Faith arrived.
Things are heating up for our Amazon teams this year and we’ve been busy making sure the team members are on track with their applications and fund raising. About this time of year we also start making arrangements with our in-country contacts who are at the heart of the expedition.
Also in the planning stages is our next trip to Angola that will take place this summer. We’ll be returning with Phil & Sharon Smethurst, our founders, to continue making long-term plans to work in the country. In fact, just this week one of Angola’s tribal kings, His Excellency the King Mbandu of the Mbunda tribe of Angola, Congo and Zambia, connected with Overland Missions at our base in Livingstone, Zambia. He came with the purpose of building a long-term relationship with us and inviting us to reach his people with the Gospel. This invitation is a huge open door for the Gospel! Read more about the king in Overland Missions’ February e-News.
In March we’ll be visiting several different churches and youth groups in Florida who are sending teams with Overland Missions, or are considering doing so. We look forward to bringing you news about how those engagements go next month!
For now, we pray you are doing great and thank you for your support!
David, Fiona & Faith
